18 October 2026 · Setup for x64 + ARM64

Published on 18 October 2026 as a free download from aicockpit.info. If you skipped 1.9.0 or earlier, what they brought is further down this page.

AI Cockpit for Windows now looks and works like the Mac app: a main window, one card for all your Claude Code and Codex sessions, settings with search, a setup assistant — and a real installer.

Important: The files are not signed: SmartScreen says “Windows protected your PC” — More info → Run anyway. Download: Setup for x64 or Setup for ARM64, with SHA-256 checksums. Not sure which one? Take x64 — it also runs on Windows on ARM. Setup needs no administrator rights.

New — a main window, as on the Mac

The panel is now a real window: the cards sit in a grid, all the same size, and you scale it as you like.

  • Equal cards, free size. Pull the window larger or smaller and the cards follow. Key figures wrap instead of shrinking, so no figure turns unreadable.
  • A header with icon buttons: Refresh, Collapse all, Pause, Usage, Your AI month, Share as image and Settings. The title line says in one bold sentence where you stand. Quit sits at the foot of the window.
  • Processor load and memory in the header. A small line shows how busy your PC is and how much memory is in use. It measures every 5 seconds (2 to 60 seconds in Settings) and warns when the load stays above 85 % for 10 seconds.
  • Pause and outages in bands. “Pause” mutes notifications and shows a band with “Resume”. A provider outage appears once in a band above the cards instead of on every card. In demo mode a band says so and offers “Leave the demo”.
  • Keep window open. Turn it on under Settings › Display — or with the button in the window. The panel then becomes a regular window with a title bar, movable, with a button in the taskbar. It opens at start, stays open when you click elsewhere, and remembers its size and position. The close button only hides it; AI Cockpit keeps running in the notification area. Off: the pop-up at the tray icon, as before.
  • Always on top. With “Keep window open” you can also hold the window above all others.
  • Never larger than your screen. A remembered size and position are fitted to the visible work area. “Reset window size” brings back the default.

New — key figures and cards, as on the Mac

The tiles and the cards follow Mac 7.7.

  • Key figure tiles in two lines. Each tile shows account and window, in full. When the row is full, tiles wrap into a second row. Drag a tile to move it; the right-click menu hides it, moves it left or right, or opens “Customize key figures”. The maximum number is yours to set (4 to 16, default 8).
  • Cards you can fold. Each card has an arrow in its header: one click (or the keyboard, or Narrator) folds it. A right-click on a card hides it or opens its diagnostics.
  • One forecast line per window with today’s share, and the time left before the clock time: “Lasts until the reset · today’s share 14 %”.
  • One money format: “USD 41.63”, with the thousands separator of the app language, on cards, tiles, the sum line, the budget, notifications and Your AI month.
  • Sparklines as on the Mac. The line runs over time. For a quota window it spans from the start of the window to the reset, with a dashed plan line from 0 to 100 %. The OpenAI and Anthropic cards show the daily costs of the last 30 days and a warning line, “Today 2.1× above your daily median” (orange from 1.8×, red from 3×).
  • Kimi shows its balance first. Under “Total” a table shows month and total. The OpenAI card can record your credit.

New — one sessions card for Claude Code and Codex

As on the Mac: the card shows your Claude Code and your Codex sessions together and sorts them by what you have to do next.

  • Three groups. Needs you comes first, in strong red with an exclamation mark: sessions that wait for an answer or an approval. Still running follows, grouped by project. Idle comes last, in grey.
  • Waiting sessions stay in view. A session that waits for you stays listed for up to 24 hours. Before, “waiting” counted for 24 minutes.
  • Mark as seen. Click the tick or the block, and the session moves from Needs you to Idle. A new reply brings it back in red. Mark all as seen does this for every waiting session at once, and a right-click on an idle session marks it as “needs you” again. Old marks drop out by themselves.
  • Running sessions in full. Each row shows title and project, model and effort, tokens and the context window — with a warning when it gets tight — and the share of the current 5-hour window. Subagents hang under their session as a tree: running, done, failed, or “no response”.
  • Idle sessions keep their detail, only quieter.
  • All, Claude Code or Codex. A filter above the list switches between them. Each view shows every session in full — no cut-off. The setting “At most n sessions” is gone.
  • Codex from its own folder. The app reads Codex sessions from %USERPROFILE%\.codex (or the folder in CODEX_HOME), and only reads. It looks at files of the last 24 hours, counts only complete lines as a sign of life and skips helper threads. If it has to leave files out, the card says so.
  • A right-click on a row opens the project folder in Explorer, shows the transcript in Explorer or copies the session ID.

New — settings with nine pages and a search

The settings window is rebuilt after the Mac: General, Accounts, Display, Costs, Refresh rates, History, Notifications, Diagnostics and About.

  • A window you scale. It opens at 1000 × 720, you pull it as you like (down to 760 × 520), and it remembers size and position. Esc closes it; Ctrl+F jumps to the search.
  • Search in German and English. A search field with a magnifier and a clear button finds a setting in either language and jumps to it.
  • Sections as cards. A side bar with icons, rounded cards with rows, and switches, menus, sliders and steppers in the Windows 11 style, in the colors of your scheme. High contrast follows the system colors.
  • Longer history. “Keep values for” offers 30, 90, 180 or 365 days. The default is now 180 days (up to 1.9: 30). One period counts for the history and for the usage per project.
  • New options: show or hide Claude, show the switch tip, show the setup again, and a note with a button to Windows’ notification settings when Windows blocks notifications for AI Cockpit.
  • Colors per plan. A “Color …” button opens twelve swatches, your own picker and “Reset”. Provider badges carry a gradient and a large letter.
  • Safer keys. The app warns when a key starts with the wrong prefix and trims spaces. “Replace …” and “Remove …” ask first. A switch “Show second Claude account” shows or hides that card.
  • No big page title. Each page starts with its first group; explanations sit as small footnotes under the card.

New — your history, to take along

The History page has the same sections as on the Mac: Retention, Usage per project, Backup and Storage.

  • “Export history …” writes one file in the format of the Mac app. “Import history …” merges such a file with what you have — without duplicates, with a check, and with a message about entries it skipped. A broken or foreign file is refused. So you can move your history between a Mac and a PC.
  • “Delete history” asks first. “Delete usage data” and, under Diagnostics, “Delete request log …” work as on the Mac.

New — real Windows notifications

Notifications now appear as proper Windows notifications, with the brain logo and the name “AI Cockpit”.

  • Toast with logo. Setup registers the app with Windows. If Windows does not know the app (a loose .exe), the notice at the tray icon stays as the fallback. Nothing gets lost: if a toast fails, the same message goes out as a notice.
  • One per kind. A newer cost alert, reset alarm or budget note replaces the older one in the Action Center. A click opens the main window — “Your AI month” opens its own view.
  • “Send test notification” on the Notifications page shows how a message arrives, and says so if Windows has switched notifications off for AI Cockpit — with a button to its settings.
  • “Your AI day”. An optional daily line at a time you choose; quiet hours and a pause move it, and it comes at most once a day. “Pause until tomorrow” is also a button in the quiet hours.
  • Weekly use under each Claude plan (Costs): the average, the peak and a verdict, as on the Mac. “Your AI month” also shows the value of your Claude use at API list prices.

New — keyboard shortcuts

  • Windows-style shortcuts: Ctrl+R or F5 refreshes, Ctrl+, opens Settings, Ctrl+F searches, Alt+Left goes back in a detail page, Ctrl+W or Esc closes, Ctrl+Q quits. The tray menu has “Open cockpit” on top and shows the shortcuts. Scroll bars are thin overlays that fade out; fields, lists and sliders have the dark style everywhere.

New — a setup assistant in seven steps

The assistant that opened at the first start grew from four steps to seven.

  • The steps: Welcome, Providers, Access, Appearance, Notifications, Start with Windows, Done. Services you already use are preselected.
  • Sign in right there. Claude and ChatGPT sign-in, and keys for the other services, are part of the Access step.
  • See the look first. Light, dark or like your Windows, plus a color scheme — with a preview, and you can change everything later.
  • Open it again any time: Settings › Accounts › Show setup again. Closing it with the cross counts as skipping.

New — the Windows 11 look

  • Title bars in the color of the window, dark or light with your scheme, with the brain logo instead of the grey default icon and with rounded corners. A change of appearance applies at once.
  • New menus: rounded corners, a soft shadow, rows of 32 pixels, round hover areas and symbols from Segoe Fluent Icons. The menu at the tray icon takes your colors, too.

New — an installer

Until now you downloaded a single .exe. 1.10 comes as a Setup file, one for x64 and one for ARM64.

  • No administrator rights. Setup installs for your user only; Windows shows no UAC prompt.
  • Two options: a shortcut on the desktop (off by default) and “Start AI Cockpit when I sign in” (on by default for a new install; an update keeps your choice). The start menu entry is always there.
  • Updating is one click. Run the new Setup over the old version. If AI Cockpit is running, Setup closes it cleanly (the icon leaves the notification area) and starts it again afterwards.
  • Removing is clean. It sits under Settings › Apps › Installed apps with icon, version and publisher. Setup asks whether to delete your settings and stored sign-ins too; the default is No, so a new install picks up where you left off.
  • Only its own files. The uninstall removes AI Cockpit’s files and nothing else; if you choose to delete your data, it deletes only the app’s own stored sign-ins. When Setup has to close a running copy by force, it hits only the installed AI-Cockpit.exe.
  • The Setup follows the language of your system, English or German.

New — an About page with feedback and rating

  • About. The icon, the name of the developer, and links to the website, the privacy policy, a feedback form and a rating page — all on aicockpit.info. They open in your browser; the app sends nothing.
  • “Check for updates now”. The button asks api.github.com at once, even when the daily check is off, and tells you whether you have the latest version. It downloads and installs nothing.

New — Claude figures straight from Claude Code

Sometimes Anthropic slows down the request AI Cockpit uses for the Claude card. Claude Code still knows your 5-hour and 7-day figures: it hands them to its status line with every message. From 1.10 on, AI Cockpit can take them from there.

  • Taken window by window. The 5-hour and the 7-day figure come from Claude Code as soon as they are newer than the last request. For each window the newer reading wins, so the card never shows something older than it has to. Model windows still come from the request.
  • You see where a figure comes from. Point at a window and it reads “from Claude Code, 1 min ago”. Diagnostics names the source of each window — the request or Claude Code.
  • Only numbers are kept. Percentages, times, the Claude Code version and an ID of the account as a one-way hash — no name, no e-mail, no text. Everything stays on this PC; nothing is sent.
  • Your own status line can stay. If Claude Code already has one, the app shows a ready command that keeps it and adds the capture. AI Cockpit only reads settings.json for that and never writes to it.
  • A tip when it helps. After the request has been slowed several times in a row, the Claude card suggests this once. You can hide the tip.
  • Off until you set it up. Without the status line nothing changes. A wrong or foreign file is ignored.

Set it up

What you doWhat happens
Settings › Diagnostics: turn on “Provide status for the terminal”The app writes the status file and the script statusline.ps1 to %USERPROFILE%\.claude\aicockpit.
Under “Use Claude values from Claude Code”, copy the command and enter it in %USERPROFILE%\.claude\settings.json as the status lineWith every message Claude Code runs the script and hands it the figures. The script keeps them in a small file for the app.
Already have a status line? Copy “Copy command, keep my current status line” insteadYour status line runs as before; the script only listens in.
Use Claude Code as usualThe card shows “from Claude Code, 1 min ago” whenever that figure is newer than the last request.
Turn the setting offThe app deletes the file with the figures again.

New — clear messages

  • “Provider temporarily overloaded.” When Anthropic (HTTP 529, “overloaded”) or OpenAI (HTTP 503, “server_is_overloaded”) says it is overloaded, the card says so instead of showing a general server error. The last figures stay, with their age. The message says nothing about your quota. The cost run of OpenAI leaves the piece and the rest open instead of marking them as failed.
  • Diagnostics: source per window. For each Claude window the Diagnostics page says whether the figure comes from the request or from Claude Code.

Fixed

  • Broken numbers in answers. A number that cannot be right — say 1e400 — counts as unknown. It is never read as 0% or $0 and never shown as infinity, and absurd times or values no longer crash the app. Unreadable settings numbers and a Codex usage outside 0 to 100 are handled the same way.
  • Grok (xAI): “Team ID (manual)”. A management key that may not read the team list (HTTP 403 on /auth/teams) used to fail with no way out. Settings › Accounts › Grok now has a “Team ID (manual)” field, as on the Mac. An ID you enter beats the remembered one and costs no request.

Good to know

  • One new file per Claude account next to the status file: claude-limits-….json in %USERPROFILE%\.claude\aicockpit. It holds percentages, times, the Claude Code version and the account hash — nothing else. Details in PRIVACY.md.
  • Coming from the single .exe? Your settings and sign-ins stay: they live in %APPDATA%\AI-Cockpit and in the Credential Manager, not next to the file. Setup installs 1.10 in its own folder, so you can delete the old .exe. If “start with Windows” pointed at the old file, leave the option ticked in Setup — then it points at the installed one.
  • The sessions card only reads. It opens the transcripts in %USERPROFILE%\.claude and %USERPROFILE%\.codex on this PC. Nothing is sent anywhere.
  • No automatic updates: the notice from 1.5 tells you that a new version is out, and you download by hand. Windows still has no widgets — the notification area is its glance view.
  • Windows 11, x64 and ARM64. Free, no account, no server of mine, no measurement.
  • The Mac gets the same changes with 7.7 (sessions card, Claude values, overload message, number checks), the iPhone with 2.18 (overload message, number checks; no sessions card). 7.7 and 2.18 are in review at Apple.

1.9.0 Published

16 October 2026 · x64 + ARM64

Published on 16 October 2026 · download on aicockpit.info. If you skipped 1.8.1 or earlier, what they brought is further down this page.

The OpenAI card holds up, and a new page shows what the requests do. A customer wrote that the card showed “no JSON object” all the time and gave no hint why.

Important: The file is not signed: SmartScreen says “Windows protected your PC” — More info → Run anyway. Download 1.9.0: x64 · ARM64 · SHA-256 checksums. Not sure which one? Take x64 — it also runs on Windows on ARM.

New

  • A Diagnostics page in Settings. One sentence at the top says “All fine” or what is not. Below it, one row per source with a light, its last success and its next request. Tap a row for the detail: the last 50 requests with path, period, status, duration and size; “Test now”, which shows the steps of the real request; and, for OpenAI, the cost coverage with each missing day and its reason.
  • A report for support. Copy it, or open it as a ready mail to support. The app never sends it. Amounts appear only if you want them. The request ID of a call is in the report, because the support of a provider asks for it; IDs of accounts and keys are always blacked out.
  • A request log. Every request to a source is recorded — without headers, keys or the content of an answer (%APPDATA%\AI-Cockpit\diagnose).
  • An error line with endpoint, period and status. Instead of “no JSON object” it now says what happened: “OpenAI: answer unreadable · costs 18.04.–15.10. · HTTP 200 · 41 KB”. It tells empty, wrong type, cut off at a position and too short apart.

Changed — the OpenAI card

  • Costs load in sections. One fetch takes at most 31 days, the current month first. If OpenAI answers a section unreadably, the app halves it until only the bad day is missing. In steady use a fetch needs one request instead of three.
  • Gaps are named, not filled. A day without a readable amount is in no sum — not even with an old value. The card shows “12.40 $ · 2 days missing” and “Today not available” instead of a zero, and fetches the missing days later. The days live in %APPDATA%\AI-Cockpit\kosten and survive a restart. Missing days and open days are shown apart: “2 days missing, 118 catching up”.
  • The cost brake and the cost alert give no false all-clear. If days are missing, the brake warns only when the known sum is already over the threshold; otherwise it says “incomplete – no verdict”. The daily cost alert stays silent when “today” or the days it compares with are missing. Both judge only a month whose days are all there. Reports and the month book name the gaps.
  • Unreadable amounts are no longer counted as 0. This holds for Anthropic, GitHub Copilot, Kimi, OpenRouter, xAI and the Codex credit: if an amount is in the answer but cannot be read (text without a number, an absurdly large value), the card says “unreadable amount in the answer”. For the xAI spending cap it says “Spending cap unreadable” — the balance stays, and it never says “no cap”. A missing amount still counts as nothing, and a number written as text (“1.42”) is valid. The OpenAI card does not show unreadable token counts at all.
  • If the top-up lies before the year OpenAI still delivers, or a day since the top-up is missing, the card does not work out a remaining credit and says why.

Changed — the rest

  • Reset deletes thoroughly. “Reset data” and a removed OpenAI key delete the remembered costs, project names and the request log even if a file is busy: the deletion is repeated until nothing is left. If Windows refuses access to the key, the app deletes nothing and names the reason. In demo mode the Diagnostics page shows invented values only.
  • Dates in the language of the app, not of the system (for example “12.10.” and “Oct 12”).
  • Files are replaced more robustly. A virus scanner or another program that holds a file open for a moment no longer makes settings, costs or the log fail; the app tries a few times.
  • Fewer requests. Project names and key counts are remembered for six hours, and costs per project and model start with a small first run that the next fetches complete.
  • The reason a service gives for an error loses everything that looks like a key or token. The ChatGPT usage now names the reason too.

New settings

Good to know

  • Two new folders next to settings.json: kosten (OpenAI cost days, project names) and diagnose (the request log). Amounts, paths, statuses and times — no keys, no headers, no answer contents. Details in PRIVACY.md.
  • A gap is not a zero. If the card says “2 days missing”, the sum holds only what OpenAI delivered.
  • The report is a draft: the app opens it, you send it. Nothing leaves your PC by itself.
  • No automatic updates: the notice from 1.5 tells you that 1.9 is out, and you download by hand. Windows still has no widgets — the notification area is its glance view.
  • Windows 11, x64 and ARM64. Free, no account, no server of mine, no measurement.

1.8.1 Published

11 October 2026 · x64 + ARM64

Published on 11 October 2026 · download on aicockpit.info. 1.8.1 brings back the OpenAI costs and came out a few hours after 1.8.0, which it includes. If you skipped 1.7, 1.6 or 1.5, what they brought is further down this page.

The features of Mac 7.5 — your money and your time in hand: a note before a plan renews, a bell that tells you when a window is free again, a daily share so the week lasts, quiet hours at night, and once a month what AI cost you.

Important: The file is not signed: SmartScreen says “Windows protected your PC” — More info → Run anyway. Download 1.8.1: x64 · ARM64 · SHA-256 checksums. Not sure which one? Take x64 — it also runs on Windows on ARM. 1.8.0 (included in 1.8.1): x64 · ARM64

Fixed in 1.8.1

  • OpenAI costs are back. OpenAI now returns costs for the past year only and turns down any older query with HTTP 400. AI Cockpit asked for three years, so the card stayed empty. Now it reads one year; if OpenAI shortens the span further, the app asks once more from the date OpenAI names. When a service turns a query down, the card now shows its reason too, not just the number.

New in 1.8 — as on Mac 7.5

  • A renewal calendar. Settings › Display › Subscription costs: next to each amount a renewal date and the cycle, monthly or yearly — for Claude, Claude 2 and ChatGPT. The app moves the date on by itself; a plan from the 31st renews at the end of February on the 28th and then on the 31st again. Some days before (3 by default, 1 to 7) a notification comes at 9 AM: “Claude Max renews on 14 Oct (CHF 200).” — for a yearly plan with twelve times the monthly fee. If the plan check suggests another tier, it says so. In the last week the card shows “Renews in 5 days (14 Oct)”. No provider is asked.
  • A reset alarm. A bell next to every window with a known reset — Claude 5 hours and week for each account, model windows, ChatGPT 5 hours and week, Kimi Coding: “Notify at reset”. Once only: at the planned reset, or earlier if the provider resets first. A second click removes it. The alarm survives a restart and comes through in quiet hours and during a pause.
  • A daily share. Weekly windows (Claude for each account, ChatGPT) split what is left across the days until the reset: “9 % left for today so the week lasts” or “4 % over today’s share”. It starts from the first reading of the day. Switch it off under Display › Layout. Unlike on the Mac, it also starts over when the window drops more than 5 points below the morning value — a reset without a new date.
  • Quiet hours. Settings › Notifications › Quiet hours (off by default, 22:00 to 07:00, across midnight). Then the app stays silent; the cost alert and the budget alert may pass while their switch is on. Renewal and month notices wait until quiet hours end.
  • Pause until tomorrow in the tray icon’s menu mutes everything but the reset alarm — until quiet hours end, or until 7 AM.
  • “Your AI month”. On the 1st, from 9 AM, a notification: “Your AI month September: CHF 312 — plans 220, API 92.” The window — from the tray icon’s menu — shows the total, plan and API for each service, the month before and the average weekly use, for up to 13 months. Share as image puts it as a PNG on the clipboard or in a file, with fixed service names instead of your account names and aicockpit.info at the bottom. Without a full month it says honestly: “No full month recorded yet.”
  • The settings search knows the new entries — quiet hours, pause, renewal calendar, daily share, AI month.

Changed

  • Every notification passes one check for quiet hours and the pause — thresholds, forecast, sessions, early reset, cost alert and budget alike.
  • Second Claude account: on Windows its card follows the sign-in, as before. The gap that Mac 7.5 closes never existed here.

Good to know

  • Three new files next to settings.json: resetwecker.json, tagesration.json and monatsbuch.json — figures, times and fixed service names only. No new network address, no data collection. Details in PRIVACY.md.
  • You enter the renewal date yourself; the daily share is a guide, not a limit.

9 October 2026 · x64 + ARM64

Published on 9 October 2026 · download on aicockpit.info. If you skipped 1.6 or 1.5, what they brought is further down this page.

The features of Mac 7.3 and 7.4 in one step: alerts for early resets and unusual costs, a plan check, colour schemes and Share as image — and, for developers, a status line in the terminal, a “Claude is done” notification, a switch tip, one sentence on where you stand and (i) buttons that explain the terms.

New in 1.7 — for developers, as on Mac 7.4

  • Status for the terminal. Settings › Diagnostics › Provide status for the terminal (off by default). After every refresh the app writes %USERPROFILE%\.claude\aicockpit\stand.json — percentages, reset times, amounts and a traffic-light level; no keys, no account names, no projects — and puts statusline.ps1 next to it. Copy command gives you the statusLine block for Claude Code’s settings.json; the line then reads like “Claude 63 % · Codex 49 % · OpenAI 2.87 $”. Pick cards with arguments (claude codex openai); --color adds traffic-light colours. Switching it off, or Reset everything, deletes both files. Same format as on the Mac.
  • “Claude is done.” A notification when a Claude Code session worked for at least a minute, then stayed quiet for 30 seconds, and the reply does not end with a question — instead of “waiting for you”, never both. Its own switch under Notifications; if you had turned “waiting for you” off, this one starts off too.
  • A switch tip. When a window is at 90 % or more and another account or the other service still has room (below 50 %), the card shows a line like “ChatGPT has 70 % left – 5 h”. Only between Claude, Claude 2 and ChatGPT; never to an API that charges per call.
  • One sentence on where you stand, at the top of the panel and first in the tray tooltip: “All good”, “Claude (5 h) is running low – full at 2:20 PM”, “ChatGPT (week) is full until …”, “Monthly budget almost reached”. “Almost full” follows your warning threshold.
  • How full does your weekly window get? The app keeps the peak of each week per account and shows average and peak of the last four weeks in the plan-check tile. With a Claude plan selected you also get a verdict (“Max 5× would likely be enough”, “Often at the limit”); for ChatGPT just the numbers. A week only counts once the app has watched it for three days.
  • (i) buttons next to the 5-hour, weekly and model windows, the time marker and “ahead of pace”, the Codex credits, early reset, cost alert, API value and weekly window. A click opens a small pop-up with two or three sentences — the same texts as on Mac and iPhone.

New in 1.7 — from Mac 7.3

  • An alert when a window resets early. When a provider resets a window before the announced time, you get a notification — Claude (both accounts, model windows included), ChatGPT and Kimi Coding.
  • A cost alert. Balances at OpenRouter, DeepSeek and Kimi that drop sharply within an hour, and daily costs at OpenAI and Anthropic of at least twice a typical day. Amount and factor are yours to set.
  • “Is your plan worth it?” A tile in the Usage window sets the value of your Claude use at API list prices against the price of your plan. An estimate, not a bill.
  • Colour schemes Graphite, Deep Blue and Classic, and a colour of your own for each plan; the ring in the notification area follows.
  • Share as image. A compact overview of your cards as a PNG, to the clipboard or a file — no account names, no session card.

New settings

SettingWhereDefault
Provide status for the terminal · Copy commandSettings › DiagnosticsOff
Claude is doneSettings › NotificationsAs “waiting for you”

Changed

  • Notifications measure thresholds against usage, even when the cards show “remaining”. Until now a nearly empty window could report “critical”.
  • The alerts forget what they remembered when you sign in or out, switch ChatGPT accounts or change a key.

Good to know

  • Two new files: %APPDATA%\AI-Cockpit\abonutzung.json (weekly peaks) and — only if you switch it on — the status for the terminal in %USERPROFILE%\.claude\aicockpit\. No new network address. Details in PRIVACY.md.
  • The plan check and the weekly verdict are estimates: providers publish no fixed weekly limits.
  • No automatic updates: the notice from 1.5 tells you about 1.7, and you download by hand. Windows still has no widgets — the notification area is its glance view.
  • Windows 11, x64 and ARM64. Free, no account, no server of mine, no measurement.

1.6.0 Published

3 October 2026 · x64 + ARM64

Published on 3 October 2026 · download on aicockpit.info. If you skipped 1.5, what it brought is further down this page.

An Accounts overview, a search in the settings and a long row of fixes — to robustness, to the Claude sign-in, to the English interface and to where the app keeps its files.

Important: The file is not signed: SmartScreen says “Windows protected your PC” — More info → Run anyway. Download 1.6.0: x64 · ARM64 · SHA-256 checksums. Not sure which one? Take x64 — it also runs on Windows on ARM.

New in 1.6

  • Accounts as an overview. Settings › Accounts is no longer one long form but a list in two groups: “Subscriptions · sign-in” (Claude, Claude 2, ChatGPT/Codex) and “Services with an API key” (OpenAI API, Anthropic API, Kimi K3, OpenRouter, Grok, Copilot, DeepSeek). Each row shows the mark in the card’s colour, the name in large type, a line on what the service shows, and a status pill: “active” or the last four characters of the key in green; “expired”, “error” or “access denied” in orange; “missing” in grey. Services you have set up come first. As on the Mac from 7.2.
  • A page per service. A click on a row opens it: a header with the status, a warning box for the trap most setups fall into (admin key instead of project key, management key instead of API key, the Kimi platform, Copilot only for personally paid plans), “What it does”, the fields with Save and Remove, and “Where to get it” with a link straight to the provider’s page. Claude, Claude 2 and ChatGPT sign in and out there, the same way as on the card. “Open accounts” on a card now leads straight to its page.
  • Search the settings. A search field above the sidebar finds terms in English and German, ignoring case and accents (“uber” finds “Über”, “key” the Accounts page). The sidebar shows only matching pages; Enter opens the first, and with exactly one service (“deepseek”, “grok”, “copilot”) its page at once. Esc clears the field.
  • Outage notices for Copilot too, from GitHub’s public status page (www.githubstatus.com), once a GitHub token is set. The new host is listed under Settings › About and in the privacy notes.

Changed

  • Everything in one place: %APPDATA%\AI-Cockpit. History and usage archive were under %APPDATA%\AI Dock up to 1.5. On first launch the app moves both once — only if the target is still empty — and removes the old folder once it is empty.
  • The English interface is English throughout. Session states, error messages of the services, the cost lines “other” and “no project”, the HTML cost report with its month name and file name, the name of the usage export and the browser page after sign-in now follow the language you set.
  • A question of its own instead of a Windows message box for “Reset everything” and for deleting usage: the button names the action in the app’s language, and “Cancel” is preselected.
  • A forecast as a fallback. Without history, Claude (5 hours, week, model windows) and ChatGPT (5 hours, 7 days) project from your pace so far — “At this pace full at …”. The warning colour comes only when it really gets tight, and the early warning only when the window fills before the reset with 5 minutes to 4 hours left.
  • Kimi platforms are called platform.kimi.ai (international) and platform.kimi.com (China) everywhere, as on the Mac.
  • Privacy and reporting: PRIVACY.md, SECURITY.md and the README point to the public repository ipstyle/ai-cockpit-windows and to aicockpit.info, name the files the app reads (.claude.json, .codex\auth.json), state that every connection uses HTTPS, and explain the checksum for x64 and ARM64. The About page shows the version of the build.

Fixed

  • One app at a time. A second launch used to open a second app with a second icon, and both wrote the same settings. Now a second launch only brings the first one’s window to the front and quits.
  • No more silent crash. Unexpected errors in the interface and in background tasks are caught; a card whose fetch fails on something unexpected asks again by itself after one interval.
  • Fresh after standby. When the PC wakes up, all cards, the outage notices and the check for new versions ask at once, instead of showing old figures until the next interval.
  • The Claude sign-in reads answers right. Throttling (429) waits for the given time, a server error (5xx) counts as passing; only 400, 401 and 403 ask for a new sign-in. Before, every fault said “Sign in to Claude”, though signing in would not have helped. Cancelling during sign-in ends cleanly.
  • No false alarm “won’t last until the reset” when the pace is fine.
  • A missing amount is not zero. If DeepSeek sends no balance or one that cannot be read, the card shows an error instead of a silent 0.00.
  • A report that cannot be saved (folder locked, no permission) says so instead of taking the app down.

Good to know

  • Windows still has no widgets — the notification area is its glance view. The Mac has the Accounts overview and the settings search since 7.2.
  • No automatic updates: the notice from 1.5 tells you about 1.6, and you download by hand. The .NET runtime is included; the app writes only to its own folder, %APPDATA%\AI-Cockpit.
  • www.githubstatus.com is the one new address. Nothing is sent there; only GitHub’s public status file comes back.
  • Windows 11, x64 and ARM64. Free, no account, no server of mine, no measurement.

1.5.0 Published

30 September 2026 · x64 + ARM64

Published on 30 September 2026. 1.5.0 includes everything from 1.4.0, which was never released on its own. Coming from 1.3.0, this is what it brought.

DeepSeek as the ninth service, a window that shows where your Claude and Codex quota went, one budget for all API costs and a notice when a new version is out — plus everything from 1.4: used or remaining, a time marker for over or under plan, a countdown, Codex credits at a glance.

New in 1.5

  • A notice when a new version is out. Once a day the app asks GitHub whether there is a newer version. If there is, a quiet band appears in the window and an entry in the notification-area menu; both only open the releases page in your browser. Nothing is downloaded or installed. You can dismiss the band for now, or skip that version — until an even newer one comes. Without a network, or when GitHub has a fault, the app stays silent. Switch it off under Settings › About.
  • The Usage window. Where did your Claude and Codex quota go? By project, model and hour, up to a year back: raw tokens, their equivalent at API list prices (not an invoice) and the estimated share of the 5-hour and 7-day windows. A chart per day — or per hour for today —, weekday × hour, and a project table with the model mix. Create analysis saves a single-file HTML report, CSV too; project names can be anonymised for screenshots and export. Open it from Usage … in the notification-area menu or the button in the panel. Like the Mac since 6.8.
  • Numbers only, kept on this PC. The window reads the Claude Code and Codex transcripts on this PC and saves only totals in %APPDATA%\AI Dock\Verbrauch (from 1.6 in %APPDATA%\AI-Cockpit) — no content, no network request. So the look back survives when Claude Code deletes old transcripts (by default after 30 days). Keep 30, 90, 180 or 365 days, 180 by default; save and delete in the window itself.
  • One budget for all API costs. Settings › Display › Budget: an amount in dollars per month for OpenAI, Anthropic, OpenRouter and Copilot together. At 75 % and at 100 % you get one notification each per month, and the total line above the cards turns orange or red, with a slim bar below. The month changes at midnight UTC, as at the providers. As on Mac and iPhone.
  • DeepSeek, the ninth service. An ordinary API key from platform.deepseek.com is enough. The card shows the balance per currency (yuan or dollars, never added up), of which granted and of which topped up, with a trend line. If DeepSeek blocks requests because the balance is too low, the card says so in red. Refreshed every 5 minutes like the other services. Under Settings › Accounts, hide it under Display.

New since 1.3 — from 1.4

1.4 was never published on its own; all of this arrives with 1.5.

  • Used or remaining. Settings › Display › Percentages shows every quota as used (the default, as before) or as what is left — on card rows, bars and trend lines, collapsed cards, the key figures bar, and the ring and tooltip in the notification area. Where there is room, the word “remaining” stands next to the number.
  • The colour stays honest. Warnings follow usage, on the ring too: 90 % remaining stays green. Only the number flips, never the traffic light. Both numbers always add up to 100.
  • A time marker in the bar. A slim line where the clock stands in the window — below the bar “15 % over plan” (in orange), “on plan” or “under plan”. For Claude (both accounts, including model windows) and ChatGPT. It moves every minute, also without a new fetch. Switch it off under Settings › Display (on by default). The tray tooltip adds the plan status when it fits. Money cards and the context window of the sessions card have no marker.
  • A countdown to the reset. Next to the clock time the card says how long is left: “Resets 14:30 · in 1 h 42 min”, from a day on “in 3 d 4 h”, updated every minute.
  • Codex credits at a glance. The credit balance now also shows on the collapsed ChatGPT card and as a line in the tooltip of the tray icon — without an extra request.

Changed

  • Copilot counts in “AI this month” — with the extra spend in dollars, not with the subscription, as on the Mac. The line now also appears when only a total budget is set.
  • Two new network addresses, named openly: api.deepseek.com for the DeepSeek card, and api.github.com also for the question about new versions — without credentials, with nothing but the IP address and the identifier “AI-Cockpit”. The list under Settings › About and the privacy notes are updated.
  • Calmer refresh intervals. Claude and ChatGPT every 3 minutes (before: 1 minute and 30 seconds), all other services every 5 minutes (before: 2 to 15). Only intervals still on the old default move; your own choices stay.
  • Slower when a service throttles. If a service answers 429 more than once, its card asks less often by itself — 3, 6, 12, at most 15 minutes — and comes back step by step after each hour without throttling. Retry-After is still honoured.
  • Staggered fetches. Each card waits a small random offset (up to 20 seconds), so they do not all ask at the same moment. Refresh still fetches at once.
  • A changed interval applies from the next fetch, not only after a restart.
  • Rounding like the Mac. Percentages round half away from zero; values above 100 (an outlier from the other side) show as 100 %.

Fixed

  • The sessions card counted tokens several times. Claude Code writes one answer in several lines with the same identifier, and each line went into the sum — measured on the Mac at 2.66 times. Now each answer counts once, while streaming only the increase. The numbers on the sessions card get smaller, and rightly so. As on the Mac since 6.8.

Good to know

  • Windows has no widgets — the notification area is its glance view; the settings search followed with 1.6. Everything else in this list, DeepSeek included, is on the Mac since 7.2.
  • No automatic updates: the new notice tells you, you download by hand. The .NET runtime is included; the app writes only to its own folders under %APPDATA%.
  • The context window on the sessions card always reads as used: it is not a quota. Notifications and thresholds keep speaking of usage.
  • Windows 11, x64 and ARM64. Free, no account, no server of mine, no measurement.

All earlier versions are in the full changelog.
